The security deposit
The deposit provides security for charges that may arise under the rental agreement. Its amount depends on the vehicle and applicable conditions. Ask the team for the amount and accepted card before travelling.
Confirm that your card has sufficient available credit for the deposit as well as your other travel expenses. Ask how and when Prestige releases the hold; the time it appears on your account may also depend on the card issuer.
Cover and the deductible
Review the cover options shown for your category. Read what each option includes, its exclusions and any deductible. A lower rental total does not necessarily mean the same financial responsibility if the vehicle is damaged.
Do not assume a personal card benefit replaces a required rental option. Ask Prestige to confirm any proposed alternative before removing cover or relying on a card policy.
Cardholder and driver
Bring the documents required by the rental terms. If the cardholder is not the driver, arrange this with the team in advance rather than assuming the card can be used remotely. Additional drivers must be accepted and included in the agreement.
At collection and return
Record existing damage and the fuel level with the representative. At return, ask for a record of the vehicle check and any applicable charges. Keep your rental documents until the deposit has been resolved.
